MANILA, Philippines—Sibol Pilipinas is assured of at least a silver medal in the men’s division of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang after squeaking past Myanmar in the semifinals at Nagaworld 2, Cambodia on Saturday night.
The Philippines outlasted Myanmar, 2-1, despite slowing down in kills in the third game, 9-11.
Sibol crawled up from a 1-0 deficit after Myanmar took a commanding 20-13 kill count in Game 1.
The Philippines continued its dominance on Saturday after defeating Timor Leste earlier in the day.
The Filipinos capped off their Group Elimination round after defeating Timor Leste, 1-0, which granted them a semifinals berth. They will be facing off against Malaysia on Sunday for the gold medal.
Their women’s counterpart took home the silver medal a few days ago after succumbing to Indonesia in the final, 3-2.
