MANILA, Philippines—Bemedaled Filipino cue artists Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno were booted out in the women’s 3-cushion carom singles event in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at NagaWorld 2: Aeon 2 Sen Seok in Cambodia on Sunday.

Amit, the first Filipino female world pool champion, was ousted from medal contention after a 15-10 loss to Thailand’s Santhinee Jaiseuekul in the Round of 8.

Centeno, a four-time SEA Games gold medalist, also failed to advance following a 15-6 defeat at the hands of Cambodia’s Sruoung Pheavy.

Fortunately for Amit and Centeno, they still have a chance to redeem themselves when they compete in the 1-cushion carom singles event beginning Friday.

Amit and Centeno will face separate foes from Vietnam to open their bids.
