MANILA, Philippines–Choco Mucho continued its splendid play in the Premier Volleyball League, sweeping Akari, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19, for its fifth consecutive win in the All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

“This win against Akari is a big help to our confidence going to the next game,” coach Dante Alinsunurin said in Filipino after the Flying Titans improved to 5-1. “Based on our performance, everything that we want to happen inside the court, we got it.”

Four players hit double digits for Choco Mucho with Isa Molde and Maddie Madayag finishing with 13 points each while Kat Tolentino and Sisi Rondina added 11 points apiece.

“In the first conference, we didn’t know how to win and now we are here. I hope this continues so we reach our goal for this conference,” he said after Deanna Wong registered 16 excellent sets.

“That’s what we really want to happen, for everyone to contribute no matter who is inside the court, playing. I am happy to see everyone giving points for the team,” Rondina said.

The Chargers, who are coming off a four-set loss to Cignal, logged their second consecutive loss, dropping to an even 3-3 slate.

Dindin Manabat only logged 12 points while Faith Nisperos had 10 in the losing stand.

“We need to put in our minds that we are in a game, in a league. Our mindset should be to work for it. We should always remember that this is no ordinary league. We need to put in everything we have every game,” Rondina added as the Flying Titans stake their current winning run against a skidding Petro Gazz on Nov. 16 at FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
