PVL: Petro Gazz, Chery Tiggo part ways with role players

Cherry Tiggo Crossovers former players Jaycel Delos Reyes, France Ronquillo, and Bingle Landicho in the PVL.

MANILA, Philippines — Petro Gazz and Chery Tiggo bid farewell to some of their role players ahead of the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season, which fires off in February.

Chery Tiggo on Tuesday bid farewell to young role players Jaycel Delos Reyes, France Ronquillo, and Bingle Landicho.

“Thank you for all the hard work and sacrifice, Bingle, Jaycel, and France! We wish you nothing but the absolute best in your respective next chapters,” the Crossovers wrote.

Chery Tiggo landed former F2 Logistics stars Ara Galang and Aby Maraño this month to reinforce Mylene Paat, Eya and EJ Laure, Jasmine Nabor, Cess Robles, Shaya Adorador, Pauline Gaston, and Jennifer Nierva.

Petro Gazz, on the other hand, let go of Grethcel Soltones, who had already signed with Akari after PVL three seasons with the Angels, and Dzi Gervacio, Heather Guino-o, and Des Clemente.

“We are full of gratitude for your dedication, willingness, and hard work as an Angel. Your grind on and off the court made a difference as we overcame challenges and grew with excellence. Thank you for jumping in and flying with us,” Petro Gazz said. “Our journey together may end but we will always be proud and be in support wherever your wings take you.”

The Angels, who missed the semifinals of the PVL second All-Filipino Conference, brought back veteran spiker Myla Pablo and signed Michelle Morente, Ethan Arce, and Joy Dacoron to boost their line-up bannered by Jonah Sabete, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Djanel Cheng, and Remy Palma.

Former Petro Gazz players Clemente and Guino-o as well as ex-Chery Tiggo Delos Reyes attended Farm Fresh’s training camp under Japanese consultant, Master Shimizu, along with fellow free agents Chinnie Arroyo and Rovee Instrella.

The players who were released by their clubs have to announce their new PVL teams.
