MANILA, Philippines—Jeremy Miado wants to climb up the ONE Championships’ strawweight ladder and he has a golden opportunity to do so on Friday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

In ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade, Miado will face Lito Adiwang in a rematch of last year’s ONE X card.

The upcoming rematch, Miado said, is the “perfect chance” for him to be in the mix for championship contention.

“This is the perfect chance for me to prove that I deserve to be in the mix of contenders,” said the T-Rex MMA member.

“I just really want to be in the top five.”

Miado also stated that his second go-around with Adiwang is a chance for him to prove that his first win wasn’t a fluke.

During their encounter in March of last year, Adiwang suffered an ACL injury which ended the match abruptly.

“There are a lot of people saying that I only won because Lito got injured, I really don’t have a problem with it, that’s their opinion,” he bared.

Miado and Adiwang will clash at midcard while ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade locks horns with ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty for the vacant division’s kickboxing strap.
