MANILA, Philippines—Joshua Pacio admitted to having a new approach ahead of his rematch with Jarred Brooks in ONE 166: Qatar at Lusail Sports Arena this coming Friday.

In a rematch slated for Brooks’ ONE strawweight world title, Pacio said he’s much more focused and motivated compared to his last outing against the current champion.

“I’m thinking of a lot of things last time, but now I’m just focused and I’m motivated to get this win in the rematch,” said Pacio.

“I’m just focused right now. I’m so blessed that everything I need to prepare for this fight was provided by God.”

In their last clash over two years ago, Pacio made the defense of the strawweight strap on his own home soil against Brooks.

Brooks, the fighter known as “Monkey God,” came out victorious to earn the division’s richest prize, which made the former Team Lakay member go on a pursuit for a rematch.

After over a year, the Lions Nation MMA standout will have his opportunity anew to right his wrongs.

This time, Pacio will also have another training partner at hand in Peter Miller, the nutritionist of ONE champions Jonathan Haggerty and Superlek Kiatmoo9.
