Petro Gazz motors up north to shoot for a third straight win and a share of the early Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference lead when the Angels battle young Nxled in Candon, Ilocos Sur.

This will be the third straight relatively light assignment for the Angels, who didn’t drop a set in beating the Galeries Tower Highrisers and the Gerflor Defenders, as coaching staff had the chance to try on new combinations on the floor while preserving their aces for a tougher grind.

But from among the league’s newcomers, the Chameleons seem to be the most formidable, being coached by Japanese Taka Minowa.

Nxled has also chalked up a victory, making its 6 p.m. clash with Petro Gazz an interesting one.

Petro Gazz has so much experience with the veteran duo of Aiza Pontillas and Remy Palma expected to do most of the damage against the Chameleons as the Angels gird up for a stretch where they will face the tougher teams in the draw.

On Tuesday, the Angels will be battling F2 Logistics at Santa Rosa Sports Complex, and the Cargo Movers can also prime up for that match when they battle the Highrisers in the 4 p.m. game on Saturday. INQ
