Jurgen Klopp charged by FA over Paul Tierney comments following Liverpool’s win against Tottenham

Jurgen Klopp has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association for comments he made about referee Paul Tierney after Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Spurs.

Klopp was quoted as saying “I don’t know what this man has against us” after he was shown a yellow card by the official for his celebrations in the direction of the fourth official following Liverpool’s last-minute winner at Anfield on Sunday.

The Liverpool manager further hit out at Tierney in his post-match interviews, saying the referee’s comments when awarding him the booking were “not okay”.

Speaking earlier on Tuesday, Klopp said he regretted the incident but he has now been charged by the FA with bringing the game into disrepute, and has until Friday to provide a response.
