MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines held Singapore to just five points in the third period on the way to a 94-63 bamboozling in the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) women’s basketball competition on Thursday at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Cambodia.

Gilas Pilipinas cranked things up in the third to annex a second straight win less than 24 hours after whipping Cambodia by 60 points.

Khate Castillo topscored for the Nationals with 14 points while Ella Fajardo, Afril Bernardino, and Clare Castro tossed in twin-digit scores in the effort.

Up next for the defending champions is Indonesia in a battle set Friday, 2 pm

The Indonesians have been untouched so far with three wins.

The Philippines actually gave up 38 points in the first half of the match against Singapore but played with more zest in the second half where it turned in that cutthroat effort followed by a 27-point finishing kick in the final period.

Gilas also used its size to the hilt, beyondbounding its foes, 60-33.

Amanda Zhi Yan had 18 points, while Chu Yin Chan added 13 more as Singapore absorbed its third straight loss to stay winless in the round-robin tournament.
