MANILA, Philippines–Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Dwight Ramos is featured in the Philippine spot of the NBA’s “Everyone’s Game” for the 2023-2024 season, which tipped off on Wednesday (Manila time).

In the version tailored for the Filipino audience, Ramos appeared on the video alongside select NBA stars who were shown preparing for their grueling campaign this season.

Part of the cast for the “Everyone’s Game” spot were NBA MVP Joel Embiid, and four-time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum along with reigning NBA champions Jamal Murray and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Also appearing were Bradley Beal, De’Aaron Fox and Zach LaVine.

The NBA said the campaign “symbolizes the power of basketball to bring people together.” The spot appears across more than 215 countries and territories.

In the original version, four-time WNBA Champion Sue Bird and two-time Fifa World Cup Champion Alex Morgan made a cameo.

Ramos, who plays as an import for Levanga Hokkaido in the Japan B.League, has been a fixture in the men’s basketball program in recent years. He was the lone player to see action in all of the Fiba World Cup Asian Qualifier windows.

The Filipino-American guard also suited up for Gilas Pilipinas in the Fiba World Cup hosted by the Philippines. However, Ramos missed the country’s gold medal campaign in the Hangzhou Asian Games last month.

The league also announced on Wednesday that there is a record number of international players in the league as of opening night at 125. NBA players who have ties to the Philippines are Utah Jazz’s Jordan Clarkson and Houston Rockets’ Jalen Green.

Clarkson was part of Gilas Pilipinas’ Fiba World Cup squad, although playing as naturalized.
