MANILA, Philippines — Dwight Ramos will be the captain of the Asia All-Stars team when they face the Japanese Rising Stars in the 2023-24 B.League All-Star Weekend in Okinawa on Saturday.

Levanga Hokkaido’s Asian import Ramos was named as the skipper of the Filipino-laden team in the All-Star festivities.

The Gilas Pilipinas star, who played in the Fiba World Cup 2023, will reunite with his comrades Thirdy Ravena of San-En NeoPhoenix, Kai Sotto of Yokohama B-Corsairs, Carl Tamayo of Ryukyu Golden Kings, Matthew Wright of Kyoto Hannaryz, Ray Parks Jr. of Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, and RJ Abarrientos of Shinshu Brave Warriors.

B.League division 2 stars Kiefer Ravena, Greg Slaughter, and Roosevelt Adams. will also join their fellow Filipinos and other Asia All-Stars  Chan Minkuk, Liu Junlu, Lee Daesung, Li Shenze, and Liu Chuanxing.

Ramos, on his third B.League season — second with Hokkaido, missed last year’s All-Star due to his ankle injury when Asia All-Stars beat the Rising Stars, 118-114.

AJ Edu was supposed to be part of the team but the Toyama Grouses import has not returned since his meniscus injury last year.
