MANILA, Philippines—Magnolia’s Calvin Abueva has been dealt a one-game suspension along with a 20,000 pesos fine for his antics in the Hotshots’ last game in the PBA Philippine Cup.

On Sunday during Magnolia’s “Manila Clasico” showdown with the Gin Kings, Abueva was seen on camera flipping off a fan after a collision with Nards Pinto in the first quarter.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial revealed that a sanction is in place for the 32-year-old forward after their meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

“About Calvin, we had a meeting earlier at two o’clock. He was in my office and we talked. He knew that he was wrong. He was wrong with what he did and he apologized for what happened,” said Marcial in Filipino at Araneta Coliseum.

“On Saturday, Calvin won’t be there. Magnolia has been informed and I also notified Calvin earlier that he’s suspended.”

The Hotshots, who are currently holding a 1-1 record, will be without Abueva’s services at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Saturday when they go up against NLEX.

“If he does that again, I told him that I’ll increase the suspension and the fine and he, again, said he won’t do it again but we’ll see.”
