MANILA, Philippines—Being aggressive is the name of the game and San Beda’s Yukien Andrada took notes.
Following a heartbreaking loss a few days ago, the Red Lions bounced back at the expense of Perpetual Help, 57-53, in the NCAA Season 100 men’s basketball tournament at San Juan Arena on Friday.

“When I get aggressive, my teammates follow so it’s a big help to be aggressive at the start of the game,” said San Beda’s team captain.

“We just needed to bounce back. I kept saying it to my team because our last loss hurts. It was from a game-winner. So we just stayed together. In training, we picked each other up and it just showed in today’s game.”

The Red Lions absorbed a 64-62 loss at the hands of Lyceum on Tuesday with Vincent Cunanan hit the go-ahead bucket with six seconds to go.
Andrada, who helped San Beda rise to an 8-4 card, made sure that didn’t happen on Friday, tallying a game-high 21 points with three rebounds to match.

But it wasn’t just Andrada who made the Altas pay for not being as aggressive as San Beda.
Rookie Bismarck Lina posted nine points and six rebounds, proving to be a presence in the paint for the defending champions.
“I expect Bismarck to dominate the paint because his presence is something else,” said Andrada. “All I can say with Bismarck is, I hope he keeps improving and he’s been showing up well.”
