The multititled Jun Jun Plana and Marty Ilagan romped off with the top individual honors in the Manila Southwoods Chairman’s Charity Cup, which ended on Saturday with two other members going home with brand new cars. Plana fired a two-under-par 70 at the demanding Masters layout for 38 points under the Stableford scoring system, while Ilagan carded a 70 over at the well-manicured Legends layout as they won the men’s and senior’s low gross titles, respectively, in the club’s flagship tournament. A Southwoods standout in the PAL Interclub and Fil-Am tournaments, Plana added the win to his collection of titles. He is also the reigning club champion. Lora Roberto, a former national team player, returned a 75 to rule the women’s side of the event that saw Jong Sug Han, Allan Yap, Richie Santos and Gerald Castillo capture the Division I, II, III and IV trophies, respectively, in the event that raised P300,000 for the Autism Hearts Philippines, Inc. Seniors Division III campaigners Rey Villar and Junqing Zhang, meanwhile, won the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross and Toyota Raize, respectively, during the raffle. —Musong R. Castillo
