MANILA, Philippines — Team Philippines’ Lauren Hoffman ended her Paris Olympics 2024 campaign after placing last in the women’s 400m hurdles repechage heat 3 on Monday at Stade de France. 

Hoffman clocked 58.28 seconds, being the last athlete to reach the finish line in their heat.

Only the top two in three repechage heats will advance to the semifinals with home bet Shana Grebo ruling Heat 3 with a time of 54.91, followed by Anna Ryzhykova of Ukraine (54.95).

On Sunday, Hoffman couldn’t earn an outright semifinal berth as she ended up in eighth place after clocking 57.84 seconds in Heat 4.

Team Philippines still has John Cabang Tolentino competing in the men’s 110m hurdles repechage on Monday and pole vaulter EJ Obiena seeking to win a medal in the final round as the remaining track and field Olympians from the country.

 Ayomide Folorunso of Italy topped the repechage heat 1 with a time of 55.07 to qualify for the semifinal with Naomi Van Den Broeck of Belgium and Alana Yukich of Australia, who finished the race with an identical time of 55.11. 

In heat 2, China’s Jiadie Mo was the fastest in the repechage round with 54.75 seconds to advance with Jessie Knight of Great Britain (55.10).
