It may be too early for basketball fans to celebrate, but the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) setting up its own arena on Chavit Singson’s “new city” could happen after what seems to be a positive preliminary discussion between PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial and Singson’s camp.

The PBA is exploring the possibility of building its own arena on the “Payanig sa Pasig” property near Metrowalk in Pasig City. PBA chairman Ricky Vargas has stated back in July that a business partner is already on board for the league’s arena construction project, and the league is now focused on finding the ideal location. Commissioner Willie Marcial added that there is a 70-75% likelihood that the PBA arena project will push through.

Senatorial candidate Chavit Singson has recently attended PBA finals games between Talk N Text and Ginebra, with fans warmly welcoming his presence.
