LA Tenorio has decision on PBA comeback

When LA Tenorio’s comeback in the PBA happens is his sole decision to make.
“If he’s ready, he’s welcome to play any time,” Barangay Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua said. “But you know, I’ve been telling him to take things easy—to enjoy the break—because, of course, we know how tough the ordeal he had to go through was. You’re off for six months and you likely still have medications in your system.”
After grueling rounds of chemotherapy overseas, Tenorio is now cancer-free.
The eight-time PBA champion last saw action for the crowd darlings back on Feb. 19 in the Commissioner’s Cup. He later saw his streak of consecutive games played end at 744 after sustaining a groin injury. Weeks later, he announced that he has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
Chua, a close pal of Tenorio, feels the four-time Finals Most Valuable Player’s return will happen sooner than later.
“We’ll see what’s going to happen, but hey, he’s already practicing, right?” he said.
A Tenorio return by Ginebra’s conference-opening game will be the rosiest for the defending champion Gin Kings, as it can happen at a time when the club could be playing games without its foremost weapon in Justin Brownlee.
