Kianna Dy can’t wait to play against former teammates

MANILA, Philippines—Kianna Dy is excited to see her former F2 Logistics teammates on the opposing side of the court in the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.
Dy decided to join the PLDT High Speed Hitters following the disbandment of the Cargo Movers.
“We’re used to playing against each other in training so that’s still friendly because we’re teammates but now that we’re opponents, we’re super excited to see each other’s reactions,” said Dy on Monday for the PVL’s Media Day.
“I feel like we’ll laugh and not be too serious because we’re still friends,” she added.
Dy is just one of the several stars who have found new homes and are expected to play big roles for their respective clubs.
Ivy Lacsina joined Nxled, Aby Maraño and Ara Galang moved to Chery Tiggo, Jolina Dela Cruz signed with Farm Fresh while Dawn Macandili-Catindig boosted Cignal’s bid.

“We came from the same team for how many years already and our transition in PLDT wasn’t as hard as we expected it to be because our teammates were very welcoming and also the coaches,” bared Dy.
“Coach Rald’s system isn’t super hard to adjust to and the first time we met, we already asked him what he expected from us so we’re already thinking ‘oh, this is what PLDT needs from us,’ so that’s what we’re working on and like what I said, it’s very easy to get along with my teammates so it’s easy for us to adjust to the system.”
Dy wasn’t the only one who switched from F2 to PLDT with Majoy Baron and Kim Fajardo also beefing up the High Speed Hitters.
“We’ve been training with PLDT for four weeks now and it’s been fun and light. We’re enjoying every training and preparation for the upcoming PVL with our new team and coaches,” said Baron.
Fajardo, however, admitted that she had jitters in her first practice with the High Speed Hitters.
After that, though, it’s been smooth sailing for the veteran setter.
“I admit, in the first training days, I was a bit nervous because it was my first time to be out of a system I was used to but then again, we didn’t have a hard time adjusting,” said Fajardo in Filipino.
