‘Grateful’ Carlos Yulo wants more after Asian meet success

MANILA, Philippines—After collecting four gold medals at the 2024 Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships, Carlos Yulo isn’t looking at slowing down any time soon.

In a post on Instagram, Yulo was nothing short of grateful after a successful stint at the Asian Championships.

“I am so grateful for this experience—the amount of hard work, dedication and support from the team PHI, coaches and loved ones has truly paid off. I couldn’t have done it without all of you cheering me on every step of the way,” wrote Yulo.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Yulo completed a quadruple gold haul after conquering the vault and parallel bars events to cap off the meet on Sunday.

Yulo’s 14.883 points bested home bet Abdulaziz Mirvaliev (14.783) and Malaysia’s Muhammad Sharul Aimy (14.466) who captured silver and bronze, respectively.

Yulo also captured gold in the floor exercise and the all-around events.

The 24-year-old Yulo hopes his lastest triumph is just the start as he is set for a medal quest in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

“I am looking forward to continuing to work hard, push myself to new limits, and see how far more we can achieve. I am so blessed and thankful for this moment.”
