Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson bracing for TNT Game 5 adjustments

MANILA, Philippines—With the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals pushed back to square one, Ginebra star guard Scottie Thompson is well aware that it’s a whole different game now.
Thompson and the Gin Kings clobbered the TNT Tropang Giga in Game 4 on Sunday, making the title series a best-of-three.

“For us right now, we’re happy to tie this series but we know TNT’s coaching staff and coach Chot (Reyes) will adjust. This is a battle of adjustments and we know they’ll do that in the next game,” said Thompson after the 106-92 win that tied the series at 2-2.

“Hopefully, whatever we work on in practice, we get to apply it for Game 5.”
Thompson was in his element collecting 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.

The 31-year-old Thompson also commended the Ginebra coaching staff for making the necessary adjustments in Game 4 that allowed the Gin Kings to finally regain their groove offensively.

“I think we just had more positive vibes coming into the game but credit goes to the adjustments made by our coaching staff. It’s a big game for us.”
Game 4 marked the first time Ginebra eclipsed the century mark after being held under 90 points in the first three games of the series.
Thompson and the Gin Kings shoot for a 3-2 edge on Wednesday in Game 5.
