Kaya-Iloilo returned to the domestic scene with a 6-3 thrashing of Tuloy FC recently to open its campaign in the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s Cup at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

National team veteran Camille Rodriguez scored a hat trick to power Kaya to victory, which came shortly after the squad represented the country in the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League.

The 2023 PFF Women’s League winners produced two draws against Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars and Iran’s Bam Khatoon before missing out on a place in the knockout stage with a loss to Australia’s Melbourne City.

Julissa Cisneros had two goals while Bhebe Lemoran also scored to give Kaya the maximum three points.

Isabella Bandoja picked up where she left off in last year’s Women’s League as joint top scorer and settled for a hat trick in a losing effort for Tuloy.

Stallion Laguna bounced back from an opening-day loss to Manila Digger by dominating Beach Hut, 9-0.

Haley Bostard scored thrice as Laguna posted the most lopsided result after two match days of the cup competition while atoning for its 2-1 setback to Digger.

Stallion has three points in two matches to equal Kaya, Digger and Beach Hut, but holds top spot in the preliminaries on goal difference.
