500-strong field tees off in Chair’s Cup

A full field of 500 players made up of members, their dependents and guests will see action in the Manila Southwoods Chairman’s Charity Cup kicking off Friday, with the top-tier players seeing action at the demanding Masters layout that is being eyed to be the site of the Philippine Open next year.

Men’s Class A and B players will play their rounds at the bending, bunker-laden layout, which has the inside track to being the site of Asia’s oldest national championship tentatively slated in February.

The rest will play at the Legends, a similarly well-manicured layout also created by the great Jack Nicklaus as the club’s yearly club event stakes two cars and a luxury cruise to Alaska for aces.

Toyota Silang Cavite and Mitsubishi Motors/Alpine Motors are putting up a Toyota Raize and a Mitsubishi Xpander Cross, respectively, while Royal Caribbean/Baron Travel is offering a seven-night Alaska cruise on board the Brilliance of the Seas, inclusive of airfare for two (Manila-Vancouver-Manila) for aces on designated holes.

Round-trip tickets for two to Los Angeles, USA, courtesy of Starlux Airlines, a Smart Vogue Plus Ogawa Chair from Ogawa, and round-trip tickets for two (Manila-Taipei-Manila) with hotel accommodations at the Hamp Court Palace from Klio International are also up for grabs for hole-in-one feats.

In the spirit of inclusivity, all above-mentioned prizes will be raffled off if no one hits a hole-in-one.

Southwoods will donate P300,000 to Autism Hearts Philippines, Inc.
